I was born a poor black child, oh wait, that's from a Steve Martin movie. I grew up in Michigan and planned to attend the University of MI until my step-dad got a job at Ohio State. So I moved to enemy territory, and started studying for a BS in Economics. I realized while I was in college that I didn't want to wait until I was retiring to see the world so I started traveling my junior year of college. I flew to Australia to meet a long time internet penpal and loved it!!

I came back, was chosen for an internship overseas and went to work at Turk Dis Ticaret Bankasi in Istanbul, Turkey as a correspondent banker, working with Letters of Credit and the like. I loved it. Came back and worked as a phonesex operator to pay for my last year of college, found it bizarrely interesting. Started working in finance and such here. I HATED it. Abandoned rat race and started my very own phone sex service.

Then I traveled some more, whenever the opportunity struck. I've been to Mexico, England, Austria, Egypt, Czech Republic, Germany, Belgium and more that I'm having trouble remembering.

Anywho, it got to the point where I loved the money and hated the work. I hated not being able to be honest about what I do for a living and I hated the feeling that I was not making the world a better place, perhaps making it a shittier place. So, with much support from my honeybunny, I closed the biz, went back to school and I'm now going to graduate as an RN the last week of August 05.

I've been invited to attend Harvard University, but they don't have a bachelor's of nursing, so I haven't decided if I am going to go at this point. I do plan to work for at least two years while I get my BSN then hopefully be on to a masters of science (CRNA) so that I can administer anesthesia to all the unsuspecting patients of the world.

As an aside, I'm a pervert and totally into the BDSM thing, I love brain teasers, I read books like other people change their underwear, I love nursing school, I have a rare book collection that has stagnated during school due to my lack of funds, I have an out of control Seussiana fetish that involves buying anything Dr. Seuss oriented, I have two great danes, I'm impossibly immature at times, I'm a Type A overachiever with low self esteem and a shockingly lazy side. I'm also the person you want on your trivial pursuit team, I have been referred to as a walking vat of useless knowledge and acknowledge that to be pretty much true.

I'm a new grad RN, I accepted my first job recently in the surgical intensive care unit at a level II facility. We get lots of trauma, fresh hearts and basically, the sickest people in the hospital. We pass the burns on to the local Level 1, but other than that, the buck stops in our unit.
